Riziki Source is a social enterprise that envisions a world where persons with disability are thriving in the Kenyan work economy. We address the problem of minimal economic participation of persons with disabilities in the following ways:

  1. Providing a reliable job seeking platform, where persons with disability are matched according to their qualifications and skills with job openings from our partners.
  2. Offering support and disability mainstreaming training to companies and organizations to enhance their ability to employ persons with disability.
  3. Enhancing the employability of persons with disability through job related and soft skills training.
  4. Running a Hub in Nairobi (Riziki Hub), where persons with disability find an accessible work space to earn an income through computer based commission work often referred to as digital jobs.

Riziki Source believes in an individualized approach to establish high quality services and increase the participation of persons with disability in the workforce.

We are looking for two people to fill the following vacant positions:

  1. Information Communication & Technology Trainer (ICT)

The trainer will work in the areas described under points 3 and 4 of the Riziki Source pillars and  effectively train persons with disabilities on basic computer skills, transcribing and performing outsourced assignments with the end goal of ensuring they are capable of working and earning an income from tasked performed.

Location: Nairobi

Duration: 12 Months

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct workshops and training at the learning center to equip learners with ICT knowledge and skills, adapted to their individual needs and profiles.
  2. Support learners during training and during the fulfillment of commissioned work.
  3. Maintain and observe quality standards in content delivery.
  4. Ensure weekly and monthly work log is completed to include information on whether learning objectives were met and document the successes and challenges experienced.
  5. Structure and implement a Riziki Hub training curriculum.
  6. Selection of candidates for the training and available work spaces at Riziki Hub upon consultation with the Business Development Manager.
  7. Maintain an up to date record of learners.
  8. Ensure learners maintain highest levels of discipline at all times.
  9. Prepare pre and post questionnaires that will collect information pertaining to training including seeking and compiling feedback from learners on workshops, for course improvement.
  10. Document training activities and case studies for reporting purposes
  11. Any other duties as may be assigned, especially in communication with clients on the online platform.

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Diploma in ICT
  2. Knowledge of soft skills required for workplace readiness.
  3. Experience in teaching/ training persons with disabilities in ICT would be an added advantage.
  4. Software and hardware maintenance skills.
  5. Knowledge and experience of computers and computer packages.
  6. Have an understanding of online outsourcing jobs.
  7. Good presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  8. Good facilitation skills.
  9. Time management skills.
  10. Ability to fully and effectively communicate both orally and in writing, in English and Swahili.
  11. General knowledge about disability, disability related challenges and prejudices.
  12. Readiness to participate as a learner in assigned workshops and seminars.

2.  Business Development Intern

To Support the Business Development Team to collect, analyze and synthesize strategic information necessary to strengthen the business components within Riziki Source.

Location: Nairobi

Duration: 6 Months 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Update and maintain Riziki Source database in a manner that can help generate analytical reports;
  2. In collaboration with the Business Development Manager, monitor specific websites on a weekly basis to identify funding opportunities as they become available;
  3. Support the proposal development teams to compile all attachments to be submitted with proposal documents;
  4. Support the Riziki Source Team within the Hub and in organization of events
  5. Assist in compilation of quarterly newsletter and stories of change within Riziki Source
  6. Any other reasonable duties as maybe assigned by the Business Development Manager

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Diploma in a business related field
  2. Any experience in a business related field
  3. Knowledge of online outsourcing jobs is desirable
  4. Excellent Communication skills
  5. Excellent networking skills
  6. Mature and presentable
  7. Creative and critical thinker
  8. Agile, Passionate, energetic and proactive
  9. Minimum basic knowledge around disability related issues and trends
  10. Knowledge of sign language is desirable
  11. Ability to fully and effectively communicate both orally and in writing, in English and Swahili
